Biogen’s big top-level shakeup continued Monday evening with news that Alex Denner — first elected to the board back in 2009 when he spearheaded Carl Icahn’s bid to engineer a tumultuous turnaround — is following longtime chairman Stelios Papadopoulos on the way out the exit.

And he’s not going alone. Richard Mulligan, the famous Harvard professor who joined Denner on the board during the revolt, is also out the exit door, along with William Jones — who chaired the compensation and management committee.
Chris Viehbacher, the ex-Sanofi CEO who stepped in to the top job at Biogen earlier this year, says he’s nominating Susan Langer for the board.
